No matter your sense of style, everyone has one thing in common when it comes to fashion. BASICS are always necessary in your year round wardrobe and essential for timeless styling. I am so happy to share some brand new styles and fabrics that have been added to the Emily McCarthy CORE collection, and how I’ve enjoyed styling these pieces for an everyday sophisticated look. Investing in a few versatile clothing pieces is never a bad idea! Here is some styling inspo and tips to best utilize your CORE pieces and get so much wear out of them!
Our first new style is the Tailored Short available in Denim Chambray & Sandshell Vegan Leather. The high waisted detail zips just above the belly button for a secure fit and they flare outward just enough to create the perfect slimming effect to the legs. If you have shopped our CORE collection before, you are probably familiar with the amazing and lightweight Denim Chambray fabric. The fact that I can wear denim shorts without feeling too casual is an absolute plus for me. I would pair these with a graphic tee & sneakers for an elevated casual look, or pair them with the matching Oxford Top for a southern chic monochromatic look.
Heads up, this Sandshell Vegan Leather is going to be your new favorite. With a different take on our Black and Luggage Vegan Leather fabrics, the Sandshell is a lot more lightweight and oh so soft. This material is perfect for both breezy and sunny temperatures for year round comfort and wear. Also available in the best selling Poppy Top, it’s impossible to not get both for this effortless & go-to matching set. Obviously loving the monochromatics here!
Introducing a hot color of the year, NAVY. Yes, we have added navy to the CORE color wheel and I didn’t realize how much it was needed until now. Available in the Poppy Top, Poppy Dress, Palmer Dress, Ruffle Short, and Lolli Sweater, we’ve made sure to give you all the options when it comes to our best selling styles. I chose to style the Palmer Dress in Navy Ponte with the white Lolli Sweater draped over the shoulders, and a pair of sneakers for a sophisticated take on a sporty look. The Palmer style pairs perfectly with a sneaker if you’re looking to achieve that elevated casual style, but also looks amazing dressed up with a heel or boot. Add your statement jewelry for an added luxe touch and you’re set for errands, work, dinner, you name it!
If you’re a fan of the iconic and amazingly dramatic Palazzo Pant, you’re in for a treat! We have welcomed this stylish staple into the CORE collection in the lightweight and versatile Denim Chambray fabric. This breezy wide leg pant will have you twirling around all night long with its elegant drape and luxe appearance. When styling the Palazzo Pant, I always go for a more tailored top to make sure the emphasis of the outfit remains on the bottom half. For this look I paired the pants with the Bradshaw Blazer in White Ponte (yes, another new style!!!). I chose to button the blazer shut, but it would be so cute unbuttoned with a lace cami, or even a graphic tee! Pair this one with a closed and pointed toe heel, your favorite cowgirl boot, clogs, or even sneakers.
Making our way into Spring, I could never forget to highlight the new styles in WHITE!! In our White Cotton Poplin fabric, we have added the Poppy Top, Stella Top, Poppy Dress, Stella Dress, and Palmer Dress because everyone needs their white staples in a variety of styles. And of course as mentioned before, the Bradshaw Blazer is now available in White Ponte. These pieces are obviously perfect to wear into the Spring, but are also great layering essentials for the colder seasons. I styled the Stella Dress with the Navy Lolli Sweater for that great contrast combo and again paired with a sneaker. This piece is an easy go-to for the sunnier & breezier temperatures going into the Spring and Summer and allows for the outfit repeating to be completely acceptable.
Hopefully this gave you some inspo for pairing and incorporating your CORE pieces into your everyday wardrobe. There are endless styling opportunities when it comes to basics, which is why I think I may need one of everything!!
