The month of August is about to begin and fall is right around the corner. It’s that time of year again where we have to start easing away from the bright pinks and yellows (cries) and allow fall transitional colors to enter the chat. We know letting go of fun summer fashion can be a bit heartbreaking, so we’re here to make it a little easier. Although Emily McCarthy clothing is known for its joyful colors, patterns, and trims, we do know how to keep things primitive when it’s needed. Introducing Emily McCarthy’s 2023 CORE collection including all of the most popular original styles to make your fall transitioning easy peasy. Here are some of my favorite pieces in the CORE collection and how I would style them transitioning into the fall season!
The good thing about fall and winter fashion is that wearing leather is now acceptable again. The infamous Poppy Top in vegan leather fabric will literally be the best thing to ever happen to your closet. I think a great way to transition this piece is to pair it with some boyfriend jeans and add a few accessories that brighten up the look just a tad. Silk scarves are a great way to add some color and character to any look. They can be worn around the neck, in your hair, act as a belt, tied to your handbag, the options are almost endless. Statement jewelry is always a must for me whether it be earrings, a necklace, or bracelet. Slip on some leather mules and add a pop of color with a bag and you’re all set.
Next on the roster is the Downtown Jogger. I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time finding nice joggers that fit me in the way I hope for them to. It’s not easy finding a high-waisted, not too baggy but not too stiff, and cuffed just before the ankle (and also not giving an absurd camel toe) jogger. When I say the Downtown Jogger checks every box on my “perfect joggers” list, I mean it. If you’re in Savannah, you know just because fall begins does not mean the heat ends. It very much still feels like summer, so we can transition this look with a sleeveless bodysuit or tank, a pair of sunnies, and some trendy clogs. A beaded necklace and bracelet with a touch of color will do the trick. If you prefer to keep it simple with jewelry, an easy way to spice up any neutral look is a fun statement bag (shoutout Anthropologie, they have the best assortment!). If you’re in a cooler area, we love to throw a fun sweater over our shoulders to add some class to this look.
For a classier look, we are in LOVE with the denim Bradshaw Blazer. Emily loves to sport her denim blazer in the office for a casual chic look. The denim material allows for this piece to be styled both up and down while providing both comfort and class. To keep things relaxed, Emily likes to pair her blazer with a graphic tee, spanx leggings, and golden goose. This look is suitable for the office and offers all the comfort while still looking and feeling like a boss babe. However, if you’re looking to dress things up a bit, Emily’s favorite pairings are a white bodysuit and the Opera Mauve Palazzo Pant. She pulls her hair back into a slick bun, adds some accessories to match, slides on some mules, and turns all the heads.
Now for the top seller of the CORE collection so far, the Stella Dress in Denim Chambray. Much like the Poppy style, the Stella is a customer favorite and one of Emily’s original staple styles that just fits everyone like a glove. The ruffled collar adds all the character and we just love the chambray material for its added comfort. This dress is such an effortless look and goes well with just about anything. Style your look with a twilly scarf, a felt hat, and some statement earrings. Wear this dress with a sneaker for a shopping day downtown, heels for a nice dinner, or cowboy boots for a country concert. We love a good versatile piece for any occasion!
