Dopamine Dressing

Dopamine Dressing

Wearing clothes you love boosts your mood – it’s called dopamine dressing, and yes, it’s a real thing. Ever had a really good morning (even headed to work on Monday) simply because you know your outfit is on point? We’ve got some perfect pieces and styling tips to make sure your mornings start out this way every day of the week.

Obviously we’re running late and still fighting the Sunday scaries. We’re going to need an easy throw on and go dress that doesn’t require much effort in styling since it speaks for itself. Of course we’re going with the Poppy Caftan in Lioness for its beautiful print & detail to lighten the Monday mood. With a slick back bun allowing the popped collar to do its thing, the effort is little without looking like it. Good thing the caftan goes with ANY shoe in your closet, because we're going for the easy slip on mules. Now get to work with a smile on your face!

The Lolli Sweater in Lioness paired with the Chloe Skirt in Vintage Indigo is an easy pairing choice. This look has all the class with the popped collar, puffed & cuffed sleeves, and vegan leather pleats. Every outfit needs a statement somewhere, and my go-to is statement jewelry. A classic cream heeled bootie, in my opinion, is the only shoe you need for the fall season since they take every look you can think of to the next level. Talk about a mood booster! This outfit is simply amazing.

On Wednesdays we wear pink. We also want to be comfortable because we’re halfway through the week which means the days go by slower and slower, or so it seems. Let’s go with Rio Romper in Pink Pop Cheetah for its plush quilt jacquard fabric. Add a scarf around the neck to tie in additional color and a boot. The compliments you’ll get on this outfit alone will be sure to boost the spirits.

One more day until the weekend! We need an outfit that is going to give us any motivation we have left, so let’s dress the part. Pair the Oxford Top in Fall Ikat with the Ruffle Flares in Java for a professional, yet vibrant and fun look. Gold chunky jewelry to fancy it up and a heel. Nobody will ever be able to tell that you’re only hanging by a thread. :)

Finally Friday!!! Let’s celebrate a long work week coming to an end with an outfit that’s sure to boost the Friday feeling. Keeping things professional and fabulous with the Bradshaw Blazer in gold linen. This blazer has amazing sleeve detail with just the perfect amount of shimmer. Add your favorite neutral clutch, gold jewelry, and boots of course! You’ll be feeling like a boss babe in this fit and ready to kick off the weekend with high spirits.

Brunch and shopping day with the girls? This one is easy. The Palmer Dress in Luggage is such an easy, flattering look to feel your best while being best dressed. This dress looks great with sneakers for activities that include lots of walking, but also looks great paired with a heeled boot. I love to style the Palmer with a neck scarf tucked into the collar and some small hoops. Start off your Saturday feeling confident and content.

The end of a long week and weekend, time to get the rest you need and deserve. For a cozy piece you’ll want to spend your whole Sunday in, the Poppy Pullover Sweater in Plaid Noir is the way to go. Let’s size up to get that perfect oversized look and add extra comfort. Pair this with your favorite pair of leggings and sneakers/slippers and have a happy, relaxing Sunday looking chic and snuggly!

Confidence allows for a good attitude on the daily. Now next time your husband complains about your shopping habits, inform him that it’s simply for his own good. ;) Thanks for letting us dress you and add some joy into your work week!
